Cebuana Lhuillier and Unified Tennis Philippines (UTP) President, Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed his commendation towards Cebuana Lhuillier Sports Tennis Ambassadors Francis Casey Alcantara, Ruben Gonzales, and Treat Huey who bagged 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals during the international tennis tourney in the 31st Southeast Asian Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
“We are very proud of the performance of our national players. They have given their best all throughout the games and it is without a doubt that they can excel internationally. This shows that Filipino tennis players really have what it takes to take our flag in the global scene,” Lhuillier said.
Teammates Huey and Gonzales nabbed the gold medal for the Doubles Men category, while Alcantara brought home a silver medal for the same category together with Jeson Patrombon. Huey earned an additional bronze medal along with partner Alex Eala in the Doubles Mix category.
“We have been a staunch supporter of our national tennis players for a very long time. With the right support and activities, we are pushing to reach our grassroots communities for more talents that can uphold our reputation in the game.” Lhuillier added.
Alongside the Cebuana Lhuillier Tennis Ambassadors, Eric Olivarez, Jr., and Jeson Patrombon also brought home the bronze medal in the semifinals of the men’s team event. Meanwhile, the Philippine women’s team also bagged the bronze medal in the semis of the women’s team events.
