Ramon See Ang, president and chief operating officer of food and beverage giant San Miguel Corporation is this year’s “Lifetime Contributor” awardee of the prestigious Asia CEO Awards 2020.
Ang will receive the award in an awarding ceremony set October 13, 2020, 6:00 P.M. together with the elite of the nation’s public and private sector leaders.
“His business career leading San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has been remarkable,” said Asia CEO Awards 2020.
“He has tremendously expanded the illustrious company’s operations to become one of the region’s largest conglomerates – generating about 5.9% of Philippine gross domestic product with key businesses in diverse sectors including beverages, food, packaging, fuel and oil, power and infrastructure, added by largest event of its kind in Southeast Asia.
Now on its 11th year, the Asia CEO Award point out Ang’s “pioneering leadership during the Covid pandemic” as a character that sets him apart with the rest this year and energetic efforts led others by example and inspired the entire business community to also do their part. The result has been an enormous outpouring of support from private businesses.”
It underscored Ang’s “over-the-top initiatives that included massive blood, plasma donation drives to help patients, food donations to help people in quarantine, huge purchases of personal protective equipment for frontline workers, on and on.”
His total corporate and personal donations, noted the award giving body, are reportedly approaching Php1 Billion making Ang as this year’s Lifetime Contributor awardee from the private sector.
