TMC Iloilo switched on lanterns; enjoins Ilonggos for Christmas

The Christmas spirit is all around the metropolis and The Medical City has brighten up the other side of the town after the premiere medical service provider in Iloilo City switched on star lanterns that adorn its its façade facing the esplanade. 

A total of 77 stars were lighted during the switch on ceremony last November 28 at the Iloilo River Esplanade 2 and was attended by the employees, patient partners, and friends of The Medical City Iloilo.

The event was highlighted with the untying of the Christmas gift led by TMC Iloilo Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Ray Villa, TMC Iloilo Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debbie Noblezada-Uy, TMC Iloilo Physician Engagement and Development Unit Head Dr. Ma. Sancha Pauline Apolto-Garcia, TMC Iloilo Patient Partner Merlinda Junio and TMC Iloilo Executive Committee members.

“This is the first time that we’re having this kind of event and we’re making it more memorable as the Christmas lanterns that we lighted up tonight were crafted by the inmates the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iloilo and symbolize the burning passion of every TMC Iloilo patient partner to bring quality service and embody what patient partnership is,” TMC Iloilo CEO Dr. Felix Ray Villa said.

“By having this project which is also part of TMC Iloilo’s corporate social responsibility, we are also giving the inmates hope and more importantly something that they can share for their family this coming Christmas,” he added.

TMC Iloilo Ceremonial Switch On of Christmas Star Lanterns was also made special by performances from TMC Iloilo chorale who rendered their versions of popular Christmas songs.

The Medical City Iloilo is one of the five local hospitals of The Medical City brand. Its other hospitals are located in Ortigas, Clark, South Luzon, and Pangasinan. It is the largest healthcare network which owns and operates Guam Regional Medical City, the first Filipino-owned hospital in the United States and an ambulatory Clinic in Dubai.
