#MetroJuanderer biz-tourism magazine is off the press, unperturbed by the ongoing pandemic.
The Metro Juanderer will be out this week and onto the tables of its readers. The magazine is published by No Boundaries Advertising and Events, an outfit that also manages the Iloilo Metropolitan Times under the leadership of Rhoderick Maquirang Tecson, a media and business person with a varied passion which includes farming.
The people behind #MetroJuanderer
The magazine has Elyrose S. Naorbe as the editor-in-chief.
An equally respected journalist, Naorbe is a correspondent to one of media’s trusted news brand CNN Philippines. He holds a journalism background from West Visayas State University, a senior writer and sports editor of the Iloilo Metropolitan Times, and he heads the local chapter of the nationwide media organization National Union of Journalists in the Philippines.
Naorbe is also a civic and community leader being charter president of the Rotaract Club of Metro Iloilo, a professional youth leadership organization of Rotary International.
The #MetroJuanderer was realized through the supervision of its young and competent editorial consultants, namely: Reymar L. Latoza, the Editor-in-Chief of the Iloilo Metropolitan Times; Panay News journalist Glenda Sologastoa-Tayona; and Francis James S. Lim, a well-respected name in the field of video production and events organizing and management.
The business and tourism magazine carry 11 feature stories that were written mostly by award-winning and multi-disciplinary local journalists, tourism writers, and travel bloggers in Region VI, among them; Rhick Lars Vladimer Albay, Raymart Escopel, Karen Bermejo, Gloria Moralidad Concepcion, and Maricyn de los Santos.
The articles in the maiden issue is described by Elyrose Naorbe as something which “showcase the bayanihan and fighting spirit of the Ilonggos to stay positive despite what’s happening around” referring to the health crisis caused by Covid-19.
A copy of the quarterly magazine only costs P100.00, reasonably low-priced despite its brilliant technical work from photos, layout, and other presentation details. Contact 0945-972-0155 or visit the Facebook page of Metro Juanderer.
We are a #MetroJuanderer
There is plenty of reading material about business and travel in print and in digital versions. All of these are accessible online and the #MetroJuanderer biz-tourism magazine can be considered as a new entrant in the fast evolving landscape of the digital press and media in Metropolitan Iloilo.
The name Metro perhaps represents Metro Iloilo and mirror the Iloilo Metropolitan Times, the local print and online newspaper who is at the helm of chronicling events and activities in Iloilo and Region VI.
The name Juanderer is a neologism from Juan and wanderer. Juan is commonly used to portray the life of everyday Filipino or sometimes personified as Juan dela Cruz.
Juan typifies a Filipino traveler – a wanderer in the archipelago’s vast attractions with mountains, beaches, hidden natural treasures, and a vibrant urban life.
Hence, the name #MetroJuanderer suggests that it will share the experiences of common travelers ranging from the odd, delightful or even extraordinary. It will show the lives of every Juan or Juana – the frontliners of the travel and tourism industry – workers and service providers in accommodations, transport services, food and dining, travel guides, cultural workers, and people in the communities who preserves the unique attraction in their localities and who offer a slice of local culture for travelers to learn and gather memorable experiences.
You are a #MetroJuanderer.
I am a #MetroJuanderer in this maiden issue
It is the desire of every journalist to be part of every new beginning; of initiatives that are intended to inform and educate its target audience, and to support local media industry and tourism development in the region using my small written footprint.
I shared both new and old, but updated relevant articles in this maiden issue upon the invitation of the Editor-in-Chief and its Publisher. I can only express an indescribable appreciation to be offered an opportunity to rub elbows even just in the pages of #MetroJuanderer Biz-Tourism Magazine with some of the best journalists and media workers in Region VI.
Cheers! #MetroJuanderer Business and Tourism Magazine.
