An alliance of International NGOs who are working to advance child rights and welfare has presented the Child Rights Now! 2019 Report to the media and to the different stakeholders in the Philippines last November 29, 2019 in Manila.
The presentation of the 60-page report entitled: “A Second Revolution-Thirty years of child rights, and the unfinished agenda, was led by ChildFund Philippines who is part of the Joining Forces alliance formed by six largest International NGOs working with and for children under the age of 18 to secure their rights and end violence against them.
The Joining Forces alliance if comprised of World Vision, Terre des Hommes International Federation, SOS Children’s Villages International, Save the Children, Plan International, and ChildFund Alliance. They are joined by Fundación Educación y Cooperación (Educo Philippines) at the launching.

“As we work together for the well-being of our children, it is important to understand the problems and issues that threaten their development and their safety,” shared Federico Diaz-Albertini, country director of ChildFund Philippines during the launch of the Child Rights Now! Report.
“The Child Rights Now! Report offers an in-depth analysis of the current children’s landscape in which we work, plan and legislate,” Diaz-Albertini emphasized.

The Child Rights Now! Report is a comprehensive evidence-based report that summarizes the situation of Filipino children and their rights. The report intends to inform the duty bearers and to encourage engagement from all [stakeholders] to continue with zeal the mission to uphold children’s rights.
According to Diaz-Albertini, the report also delves into the achievements and gaps in the fields of education, health, justice and protection and development. Hence, the report also identified what more work are needed on those areas.
On its Facebook page, ChildFund Philippines shared that the report launch was about a unified effort and commitment to secure children’s rights among members of the Joining Forces Alliances.
The launch was supported by government partner agencies like Dept. of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Dept. of Interiors and Local Government (DILG), Dept. of Education (DepEd), Dept. of Justice (DOJ), and the Dept. of Health (DOH).
It was also supported by Bantay Bata and the inter-agency body Council for the Welfare of Children together with media partners from ABS-CBN, GMA-7, Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Rappler, Manila Standard and Central News Agency.
