1M+ families received SAP in WV; 1st tranche 92% complete said DSWD-VI

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-VI) has reported that a total of 1,062,199 family beneficiaries has already received the P6,000 emergency subsidy under the social amelioration program (SAP) for Western Visayas. 

As of May 15, 2020, payout accomplishment totaling to P6,373,194,000 revealed 92.06 percent completion for Region VI.  

“We are getting closer to the end of our first tranche of SAP,” shared Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, regional director of DSWD-VI. 

The release of SAP to its beneficiaries was coordinated with 133 local government units, the agency said, and out of the 133 LGUs, 85 have already completed their respective SAP payout.  

The breakdown are as follows: 

  • Aklan – 10 towns
  • Antique – 16
  • Capiz – 16
  • Guimaras – 5;
  • Iloilo – 20; and
  • Negros Occidental – 18.

On the other hand, of the 79 LGUs, 41 have already submitted a complete liquidation report to the regional office.

However, 48 LGUs have ongoing payouts. It includes: Iloilo (including Iloilo City) – 24 towns; Negros Occ. (including Bacolod City) – 14; Aklan – 7; Caluya in Antique – 2; and only Roxas City in Capiz. 

The agency also reported that 7,322 Pantawid beneficiaries without cash card have already received their SAP assistance.

Each of the beneficiary have received P4,650 SAP assistance in addition to their P600 rice subsidy and P750 for health.

The agency have emphasized on those LGUs who are still with ongoing payout to maintain observance of safety protocols.
